Ruth is a Registered Social Worker who completed her Master of Social Work degree from The University of Toronto, and her Honours BA from Carleton University in Criminology with majors in law and psychology. Ruth brings over 30 years of experience to her clinical practice. Ruth works from a trauma informed and anti-oppressive lens. She specializes in supporting survivors of trauma including those who have experienced, childhood and adult abuse, including sexual abuse, domestic violence, and systemic oppression. Ruth has extensive experience working with individuals at risk and in risk who have been in conflict with the law. Ruth has experience with clients who are in crisis including those with anxiety, depression, suicide/self harm, family conflict, and other day to day barriers . Ruth works with individuals as well as couples. Furthermore, Ruth has experience teaching social work as well as in clinical supervision and mentoring.
