With a Bachelor in Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor, Darlene worked in the physiotherapy field as a Clinical Kinesiologist for five years prior to her Pedorthic endeavours. Having an aptitude for leadership, problem solving and hands on work, combined with a desire to specialize and focus on lower limb mechanics her interest in the field of Pedorthics was sparked.
Darlene is currently a member on the Communications Committee, authoring articles in the Pedorthic Journal-Pedorthics Quarterly and has contributed to the Pedorthic Association of Canada on the Professional Development Committee. She has authored a Chapter in the 2012 Clinical Practice Guidelines for Pedorthist, and is a member of the College of Pedorthics of Canada.
Darlene enjoys the challenges of lower limb sport injuries, having played at the Provincial and University levels herself, but also appreciates the importance of proper footwear and support to the average foot.
Darlene enjoys an active life filled with a variety of sports and activities including; volleyball, mountain biking and slo-pitch to name just a few. It wouldn't be unlikely to catch Darlene hiking or biking the trails with her young family.
